25 Need To Know Golf Terms

1 Hole in One - Scoring one stroke on a hole.
2 Eagle - Scoring two under par on a hole.
3 Birdie - Scoring one under par on a hole.
4 Par - The number of strokes that are on the score card to get on a hole.
5 Bogey - Scoring one over par on a hole.
6 Double Bogey - Scoring two over par on a hole.
7 Triple Bogey - Scoring three over par on a hole.
8 Quadrouple Bogey - Scoring four over par on a hole.
9 Snowman - Scoring an 8 on a hole.
10 Duff - barely hitting the ball or topping the ball.
11 Fluff- when chipping the ball you hit under the ball and fail to move it.
12 Shank - when hitting the ball off the hozel of the club, and it sprays to the right.
13 Cut - moving the ball slight left to right.
14 Fade - moving the ball left to right.
15 Slice - uncontrollably moving the ball left to right.
16 Draw - moving the ball slight right to left.
17 Hook - moving the ball right to left.
18 Snap Hook - uncontrollably moving the ball from left to right.
19 Mulligan - Taking another shot without adding a stoke to your score.
20 Gimme - Giving your self a shot, usually when putting.
21 Chunk - Hitting the ground before the ball and leaving the ball well short of the hole.
22 Thin - Hitting the ball only not catching any turf, usually results in leaving the ball short of target.
23 Punch Shot - When you keep the ball low, hard to control this shot.
24 Knock Down Shot - Hit to keep the ball low when playing in the wind. Easy to control.
25 Knocking it stiff - When hitting the ball pure at the target and dropping it within inches.
